SHAC TORONTO VISITS SUMITOMO
“We realized that standing 28 floors below Sumitomo with our signs would not get the job
done. So three different teams went to Sumitomo on the 28th floor. The first group went
and talked with Pierre Lemire (Sumitomo manager). We told him why we were there, and
challenged him to put it in writing that Sumitomo Canada has no connections with Sumitomo
Chemical Corporation and their support of animal cruelty at HLS. He was not prepared to do
this. A little later, team 2 went to the 28th floor. Leaflets were thrown in the lobby and
a noisy demo took place. Not too long after, team 3 went to the offices and also threw
leaflets everywhere and got the message across loud and clear: deal with HLS and you get
SHAC in the package.”
